Biographical Information


Peter Baehr is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John's, Canada. Among his books are Caesar and the Fading of the Roman World, designated "An Outstanding Academic Book of 1998" by Choice, and, as editor, The Portable Hannah Arendt (Penguin, Feb. 2000). He is a regular contributor to the Times Literary Supplement.

Daniel W. Boettcher will graduate with a Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center in May, 2000 and holds a BA from the School of International Service at American University. A former employee in trade advocacy at the United States Department of Commerce, Mr. Boettcher is a founding member of the Tabula Rasa Institute and is Vice-President of its Board of Directors.

Jill Starr is a graduate student at Montclair State University in New Jersey. She currently studies Preventing International War Crimes at New York University, Division of Continuing Education, with Former Nuremberg Prosecutor Benjamin Ferencz. Her major concentrations are Human Rights and how diplomacy can be enhanced between the United States and Yugoslavia. She also specializes in enhancing cultural and theological understandings between the United States and Yugoslavia.
