Thank you for reading the first issue of the Online Journal of Peace and Conflict Resolution. I hope you will be pleased with our efforts. I would like to thank all those who submitted works to the OJPCR and encourage everyone interested to submit for future issues.

This issue, we have some very interesting pieces:
 

• Ada A. Aharoni discusses the necessity of including culture in efforts to resolve deep-rooted conflict in Seeking Arab Israeli Peacemaking and Reconciliation through Culture and provides a selection of her peace poetry in Not in Your War Anymore.

• Jennifer Fisher examines the origins of genocide and provides actions we all can take to prevent its occurrence in Nonviolent Action in Prevention of Genocide: Bosnia in Focus.

• Joshua Weiss investigates the foundation of the conflict in Cambodia in A Disastrous Balancing Act: The Beginning of Cambodia's Misery

• F. Cardone examines the similarities and differences of small court mediation and negotiation in international conferences in Conflict Resolution in Mediation and International Conferences.

• Miceal O Murcu is building a house in South Armagh, Northern Ireland and discusses the people and problems of this region in Buying Ireland and Buying Ireland II.

For this issue, I received submissions from professors, graduate students and professionals, but did not receive a single paper from an undergraduate. In an effort to encourage undergraduate participation, I am posting a paper I wrote as an undergraduate at Colorado State University: The Development of the International Peacekeeping Regime and the Conflict in the Former Yugoslavia.

Remember: anyone is welcome and encouraged to submit to the OJPCR.

In the future, I am hoping to add regular features, including:

• A series of biographical essays about important figures, not only in peace and conflict resolution, but historical thinkers and pacifists as well.
• A special section to feature student writing.
• Articles with special focus on non-western peacemaking and conflict resolution.
• Book reviews and notices of future publications.
• And many more based on suggestions from readers!
